Revisitations

In the future, you won’t buy artists’ works; you’ll buy software that makes original pieces of “their” works, or that recreates their way of looking at things.

– Brian Eno, Wired 3.05, May 1995, p. 150

With streaming platforms forming the dominant mode of listening, Eno’s vision is become a real possibility for wide dissemination. As a 1st step are artists are uploading revisions as some listeners are reporting? We check in, to see how this checks out.

Revisitations is a nod in scattered directions to various artists who revisit, version and re-iterate their own work over time, as well as those who solicit remix’s of their work by peers. Drifting from JMC, to Glenn Gould, to Beverly Glenn-Copeland (with a pit stop at Shania Twain) will leave you with Caroline Polachek and Charli XCX.
