1. Marc Baron – ‘04 2013 – A Happy Summer with children’ – Hidden Tapes – France, 2014 on Potlatch
With ‘Hidden Tapes’ we find Marc Baron’s presenting another solo effort, following up on his 2012 release ∩ on Cathnor. For this release Baron has assembled 5 tracks of analog fuckery sourced from extracts of old cassette tapes, movie soundtracks and classical/liturgical music.
2. Kenyah Umaq Jalan – ‘Dance Song’ – Kalimantan : Dayak Ritual and Festival Music – Indonesia, 1998 on Smithsonian Folkways
The Kenyah are a Central Bornean people. The ‘Dance Song’ is composed of a soloist with a chorus of 22 women and 14 men.
3. Terje Isungset – ‘Mammoth’ – Igloo – Norway, 2006 on All Ice Records
I have a few ‘Ice’ releases by Terje Isungset. ‘Igloo’ stands out among the rest. I haven’t really heard much discussion of his music anywhere but it appears he is quite well known. Though quite grandiose in execution I find the results impressive. All instruments on this release were made out of ice. Here is a video sample of one of his performances:
4. Millie & Andrea – ‘Giff Riff‘ – Drop the Vowels – United Kingdom, 2014 on Modern Love
Mille & Andrea are UK Techno Dub producers Miles Whittaker and Andy Stott. Here they team up for ‘Drop the Vowels’ after there previous release four years ago.
5. Segue – ‘Flood‘ – The Here and Now – Canada, 2014 on SEM
Segue is Vancouver born/Edmonton based ambient musician Jordan Sauer. ‘Flood’ is from his latest release ‘The Here and Now’ on SEM.

7. D’incise – Craigs Stroke #2 – Lance Austin Olsen | Scores and Markings – Switzerland, 2014 on Infrequency
Lance Austin Olsen | Scores and Markings is a free download from the Infrequency label featuring works by such notable musicians as crys cole, Johnny Chang, D’incise, Jamie Drouin, Mathieu Ruhlmann and Joda Clément. Each of the 5 tracks was composed using a painted score by Lance Austin Olsen. Jesse Goin provided an inspiring text as well.
